What is end-of-life care?

End-of-life care refers to the support and medical care provided throughout the latter stages of life. This type of care is not limited to the seconds before breathing and heartbeat stop. Elderly persons frequently suffer from one or more chronic illnesses and require extensive care for days, weeks, or even months before dying.
